Fall 2021 Library Update
The John Richard Allison Library is pleased to announce the resumption of regular hours and services beginning September 8, 2021, coinciding with the start of Regent College's Fall 2021 term. The Allison Library's operating hours will be from:
8 am - 9 pm Monday to Thursday
8 am - 7 pm on Fridays
9 am - 5 pm on Saturdays.
The library will once again be open to the public with no appointment necessary. Study rooms will also be available for booking at the circulation desk and the computer lab will reopen. As the library will be fully open to students, external patrons, and other members of the public, we will no longer be offering curbside pickup services.
During COVID we have allowed Reference books to circulate to maximize student access but starting now we will no longer be circulating Reference books and all Reference books currently checked out will not be available to renew. We have also been renewing books past the normal three renewals by request but with Regent and the library more accessible, starting in September we will no longer be renewing books past three renewals; students will need to bring their books back for check-in and inspection before having the book checked out to them again. Alumni had temporarily had their item limit lowered to ten items out at a time but this will now be restored to forty items. We will also be offering paid community memberships once again.
Starting September 8 the Allison Library will also revert back to policy in place before COVID and no longer allow holds on books. All books will be available only on a first come, first serve basis. Patrons will still be able to recall books that are checked out.
The Allison Library will continue to offer a once-a-week scanning service for distance-based students. More information on scan requests can be found here.
