Microforms and Media

Microforms

The Allison Library holds a considerable collection of microforms, which include microfilm and microfiche. These are two types of film on which micro-copies of books, theses, and journals are stored. The library’s collection of microforms includes copies of rare books, historical runs of journals, and theological theses and dissertations written across North America and beyond. These items appear in search results, clearly marked “John Richard Allison Library Microform.” 

A microform reader is required to read these copies, and the Allison Library has one reader located in the media section (see Library Floor Plan). The reader can also be used to make copies, which cost 10¢/page and can be paid for at the Circulation Desk.

Media

The library also holds a collection of media, including audio cassettes, CDs, MP3s, and DVDs. This material includes many recordings of Regent courses, lectures, conferences, and chapel talks. These items appear in search results, clearly marked “John Richard Allison Library Media.”
